Office Admin Explorer

Microsoft 365 Apps · by Pascal Donath

Click anything marked with i in the mock window. The panel shows the idMso for customUI, the Group Policy, the registry value it writes, Intune / Cloud Policy notes and links. Preview buttons show how a hidden or disabled control looks. The window is a training mock: nothing here changes a real system.

README

This window is a training mock of Word for Microsoft 365 Apps admins. Every i marks an element with admin information: idMso, Policy ID, Group Policy, registry value, Intune setting and links.

Good first stops

  • File › Account › Update Options: update policies, channel GUIDs, update history
  • Developer tab: how macro buttons map to Trust Center policies
  • File › Options › Trust Center › Trust Center Settings: the security baseline settings

The search box at the top also finds every Word command from Microsoft's official control list, with its Policy ID for "Disable commands".

Reference at the top lists every Office policy from the ADMX files and every command ID. Entries marked "✓ ADMX" were checked automatically against the original Microsoft files.
